Rangers Get Pull Award From VAR
Pulled shirt penalty
The 7-goal thriller on Thursday evening featuring the Royal Antwerp against Rangers in the last-32 round of the UEFA Europa League saw an interesting call.
In the 59th minute of play Bulgarian referee, Georgi Kabakov, was prompted to look at VAR and was able to confirm that a shirt pull on Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos, had been spotted by the guys in the replay booth. Kabakov consequently awarded a penalty which was converted to make the score 2-2 on Rangers way to a 4-3 away victory.
The photo above is not the clearest evidence although the TV pictures were relatively convincing.
In this scenario ColorFlash would offer certainty and Kabakov or one of his assistants would likely have been able to spot the offence in real-time.
